Subaru Loves to Care - Ashley L
Today, McGovern Subaru had the privilege of delivering hope and comfort to the Cancer Ward at Portsmouth Regional Hospital as part of the Subaru Loves to Care® initiative. Together, we donated cozy blankets, thoughtful care packages, and heartfelt messages of encouragement to patients facing some of life's toughest challenges. These handwritten cards came not only from our team, but also from our incredible customers, whose kind words will help bring comfort, strength, and support to those who need it most. This annual tradition is especially meaningful to us. Through our partnership with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), we are reminded of the importance of supporting their mission to cure blood cancers—including leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, MDS, and MPNs—while providing critical emotional, financial, and educational support to patients and their families. We were also honored to share donations from a very special customer, Bill, who generously provided get-well cards in honor of his wife, a proud cancer survivor. This is his second year in a row helping us with our donations! What a kind soul! His compassion deeply touched us, and we were proud to stand alongside his generosity with our own efforts to bring comfort and connection to those in treatment. It was a powerful day filled with purpose, kindness, and community—proof that even the smallest gestures can make a meaningful difference. Thank you to everyone who helped us share hope, one blanket, one card, and one caring message at a time. 💙

At Subaru, and here at McGovern Subaru, we believe the legacy we leave behind matters. 🌍 That's why caring for the planet today is an important promise we make for tomorrow. Through Subaru Loves the Earth®, we once again partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to help keep our communities growing green. 🌱 Trees do so much for us; they provide oxygen, clean our air and water, cool our neighborhoods, and support our overall health. Yet every year, millions of trees are lost due to age, disease, and extreme weather. That's why we took action. For the second year in a row, we proudly gave away 100 free trees to residents of Newington, NH, and surrounding towns. Seeing the joy and excitement on our customers' faces was a powerful reminder of how much we all care about protecting the Earth. Thank you to everyone who helped us make a difference one tree at a time. 💚🌳

💗 Honored to Stand Together for Breast Cancer Awareness 💗 Those of us from McGovern Subaru were truly grateful for the opportunity to attend this year's Breast Cancer Awareness Fashion Show, held at the breathtaking Cliff House in Cape Neddick, Maine. This marked our third year proudly supporting the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation, and each year leaves us more inspired than the last. This event is so much more than a fashion show. It is a powerful celebration of strength, resilience, and community. Local boutiques generously shared stunning spring styles, brought to life by models who are either breast cancer survivors themselves or loved ones whose lives have been touched by the disease. Their courage and grace filled the room with meaning far beyond the runway. Guests were treated to a beautiful afternoon featuring a silent auction, mini lobster rolls, decadent desserts and charcuterie boards, pop‑up fashion boutiques, and refreshing drinks, all while coming together for a greater purpose. Every smile, every moment, and every contribution helped support a mission rooted in compassion: providing direct financial and emotional assistance to breast cancer patients across southern New Hampshire and Maine. Because the fight against breast cancer isn't only medical, it's personal and everyday. Treatments can make it impossible to work, leaving many patients struggling with basic necessities. What an amazing day we had at McGovern Subaru during our annual Operation Warm event! On 1/14/2026, we proudly partnered once again with Operation Blessing and some incredible volunteers in Portsmouth, NH, to bring warmth, comfort, and smiles to families in our community. This event is more than just giving coats and shoes—it's about building confidence and creating opportunities for every child to thrive. Through Subaru's partnership with Operation Warm, we help ensure that kids have the essentials they need to attend school, play outside, and feel proud of themselves. Operation Warm's mission is simple yet powerful: provide brand-new coats and shoes to children in need. These items aren't just material things—they're gifts of dignity and hope. We are honored to stand alongside them in making a difference. This year, we were thrilled to continue working with Tammy and the amazing Operation Blessing team. Their dedication and organization turned this event into a seamless, joyful experience. We couldn't be more grateful for their leadership and the hard work of every volunteer who showed up with open hearts. 💙 Together, we distributed coats, shoes and socks, along with pizza, snacks, desserts, and drinks to meet immediate needs. It's that time again to Share the Love® Operation Blessing💙 This year, we were honored to expand our giving beyond the NHSPCA and support another organization that leads with compassion, dignity, and hope—Operation Blessing. Their work reaches across generations, helping adults facing homelessness or hardship while also uplifting children through after-school and summer programs that give them a safe place to grow, learn, and simply be kids. Operation Blessing began in 1978 when founder Rachel Sparkowich felt a powerful calling to help those living in extreme poverty. What started as one caring response to a family in need grew into a lasting legacy of service—one fueled by deep compassion and a belief that lives can be transformed when people are truly seen and supported. Today, the organization is led by Tammy Joslyn, whose leadership is grounded in empathy and lived experience. Once a client herself, Tammy now leads with understanding, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to helping individuals and families move from crisis toward stability. Operation Blessing works to break the cycle of poverty by embracing people where they are and walking alongside them toward a more sustainable future. Their mission focuses on: ✨ Meeting Immediate Needs Providing food, clothing, and essential household items with care and dignity. ✨ Supporting Long-Term Growth Encouraging healthy life choices through education, outreach, and community-based programs. The New Hampshire SPCA holds a truly special place in our hearts. Their unwavering dedication to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals across the state inspires us to always do more—for those who don't have a voice. Through Subaru's Share the Love® Event, Subaru donates $250 for every new Subaru purchased or leased. At McGovern Subaru, we proudly go even further by contributing an additional $75 per vehicle sold or leased, plus $3 for every Subaru oil filter sold during oil changes. This impact is only possible because of our incredible team and our loyal, compassionate customers—thank you for being part of something bigger. Each year, the NHSPCA provides shelter, medical care, and second chances to nearly 2,500 animals, including many transported from across the country. As an open-admission, unlimited-stay facility, they ensure every animal receives the time and care needed to find a loving forever home. From adoption and training programs to cruelty intervention, transport efforts, and low-cost clinics, their work changes lives every single day. This year marks our 10th year supporting the NHSPCA, and we couldn't be more proud to stand beside such a compassionate, life-saving organization. 💕 Because of you, we were honored to deliver $13,455.00 to help continue this vital mission. That's why we were so honored to partner once again with Operation Blessing, an incredible local organization that makes a difference every single day. Led by the truly inspiring Tammy Joslyn, Operation Blessing is more than just a shelter or donation center; it's a sanctuary —a place where children can learn, grow, and feel safe. Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Newington, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why McGovern Subaru is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like McGovern Subaru have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/21/2025, McGovern Subaru donated 120 shoes/socks to The Granite YMCA of the Seacoast. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.
