Plenty of drivers in the Rochester area and beyond choose to come to us to bring home an SUV for their commute or family trips. We offer a range of exciting options in our new Subaru inventory, including the Subaru Outback.

Buying a Subaru SUV is an excellent choice for customers who want a vehicle that can take them on camping trips and easily fit in with their everyday lives. However, there are plenty of SUVs on the market, so we understand that it can be challenging to choose which one is best for your needs.

So in order to help you out and make sure you see all the advantages we see in the Subaru Outback, we are here to highlight how the Outback compares to a few other similar SUVs.

The Subaru Outback vs. the Competition

When you choose a Subaru, you can feel secure that you're selecting a vehicle that will last you a long time. Subaru vehicles have a reputation for longevity. These models, with routine maintenance, can stay on the road for miles and miles and still perform the way it's meant to when you're out running errands around Rye.

So when you choose the Outback, you can make the most of everything it offers. Please keep reading to see how it compares to the Toyota RAV4, the Ford Escape, and the Hyundai Tucson.

Subaru Outback vs. Hyundai Tucson

One great benefit of the Subaru Outback is that it offers standard symmetrical all-wheel drive. So no matter the trim level you select, you can feel secure in different driving environments. The Hyundai Tucson offers all-wheel drive, but it's only available on select trim levels.

The Tucson comes with a four-cylinder engine that produces 187 horsepower on all trim levels. The 2.5-liter DOHC engine that's offered on a few trim levels of the Outback produces similar horsepower. However, the Outback allows you to opt for the 2.4-liter turbocharged DOHC engine that can produce up to 260 horsepower. So if you're looking for an SUV that delivers exceptional power, the Outback is the pick for you.

If you're looking for an SUV that can bring along all the gear you want on your next vacation, the Subaru Outback comes with up to 3,500 pounds of towing ability on top trim levels and 2,700 pounds of towing ability on the base model. The Tucson only offers up to 2,000 pounds of towing capacity.

Subaru Outback vs. Toyota RAV4

Exeter drivers looking to get farther on a full gas tank will enjoy the large fuel tank that comes with the Outback. The Outback can hold up to 18.5 gallons of fuel, while the RAV4 offers a fuel tank that holds 14.5 gallons. And both models can achieve comparable mileage.

If you're looking to head over rugged terrain, the RAV4 offers a ground clearance of 8.4 inches. The Outback has a similar ground clearance of 8.7 inches on most trim levels. However, if you choose the Wilderness trim, you can enjoy the benefits of the 9.5 inches of clearance.

The Toyota RAV4 also doesn't come with standard all-wheel drive like the Outback. And if you're interested in a vehicle that offers more space for all your passengers, the Outback comes out on top. The Subaru Outback comes with 109 cubic feet of passenger volume, while the RAV4 offers 98.9 cubic feet. So the Outback provides more legroom, headroom, and shoulder room for you and your passengers.

Subaru Outback vs. Ford Escape

Both the Subaru Outback and the Ford Escape are great family SUVs. Both of these models can seat up to five passengers. However, if you're looking for a vehicle that delivers on cargo room, the Outback is the right choice. With the rear seat lowered, the Outback can offer up to 75.6 cubic feet of cargo volume, while the Escape offers 65.4 cubic feet of volume.

The Ford Escape is optional with all-wheel drive but doesn't come standard with it like the Outback does. The Outback also offers several standard off-roading performance features that are sure to help you out in various driving situations. You can enjoy the benefits of X-MODE to optimize traction, and the Hill Descent Control feature comes in handy when traveling down inclines.

When it comes to infotainment, the Outback delivers excellent standard features like Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, and when you choose to drive the Escape, these technologies do not come standard, so you'll need to pay more to enjoy them.
